St Helen's Primary School Nursery

We are proud that St. Helen’s Nursery is a fun and nurturing environment, where adults guide and extend young children’s learning, helping them to enjoy and achieve in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.

The organisation and planning of our Nursery sessions encourages the children to be problem-solvers, decision makers and to learn to be independent.

Activities offered in our indoor and outdoor environment are carefully designed to support these skills and to make learning irresistible!

The Nursery is run by a qualified teacher and nursery nurse, supported by teaching assistants, who work with parents and their children towards a smooth induction to school. We also enjoy welcoming parents into the nursery each term, during our immensely popular and successful SHARE sessions.

If you are interested in applying for a place in our nursery class, please visit the school office for an application form.

There is a waiting list and we have to follow the admissions procedures of Suffolk County Council when offering places in our nursery.

For more detailed information about these admission procedures, please visit

Please note that securing a place in our Nursery is not a guarantee of a place in the school.  You will need to make a separate application for a place in Reception.
