Thank you for all your continued support for the PTA events that have raised funds to enhance life at St Helen's.

Our fundraising priority for 2017/18 is the school swimming pool. The school needs updating in many areas as it is an old building which requires a lot of upkeep, but the swimming pool in particular is in need of repair. The swimming pool is a selling point for the school and very important for pupils as a recreational resource due to the relatively small size of the playground in proportion to the number of pupils. 

Your support at our PTA events is therefore much appreciated as the majority of the money we raise this year will go towards the goal of keeping the pool operational.

                             Planning for International Day 2018 - We need you!

We are currently in the planning stages for our 2018 International Day, which will be held on Saturday 30th June. The last time this fantastic event was held was in 2013 and we are really looking forward to putting it on again. We hope the day will be a real celebration of our school's diversity as well as a fun day out. 

If you have any ideas or activities you would like to see included please contact the PTA via the Facebook or email links below. Maybe you are part of a local organisation or group that would like a stall or you are able to provide henna tattooing, hair braiding or face painting? Part of a dance group, or have contacts with companies that might be interested in providing international cuisine? Or if you would like to be a volunteer on the day or help with the planning we would love to hear from you!

The PTA is a great way to get involved in your child’s school life and, whether you can help in a big or small way, your involvement makes a difference, even by simply turning up and supporting the events. New members are always very welcome, please contact the Chairperson for more details at . Alternatively you may use the facebook group called Friends of St Helen's School.

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a joint committee of parents and teachers of St Helen's Primary School. Our main aim is to plan and organise events that help raise funds for the school to support learning and the school environment. We also aim to encourage close links between home and school by providing opportunities for parents, staff and children to get together. Parents and staff work together to provide fund raising activities such as quiz nights, International Days and Winter fayres, as well as supporting school based events such as providing refreshments for the Key Stage performances and share days. An annual general meeting (AGM) is held at the beginning of the school year where a committee is elected and objectives for the year ahead are set out. We then aim to meet frequently, dates and times of which will be made available.
