The St Helen's Primary School PTA AGM will be held on 18th September 2018 at 7:00pm in the downstairs hall

                               St Helen's PTA - We need you!



Our annual general meeting (AGM) is being held at the beginning of the school year on September 18th 2018. At the AGM a new committee will be elected and objectives for the year ahead set out.

We are unfortunately losing some of our wonderful committee and year representatives this school term as some members children have left St Helen's, some will be busy with new babies and some will have new commitments elsewhere. This means we will need some new committee members to join us to keep up the momentum we gained in the last year.

The PTA is a great way to get involved in your child’s school life and, whether you are able to offer support as a committee member or in a smaller way volunteering at our events, your involvement really makes a difference.


Last year we were given the challenge of raising funds to enable the school to save the swimming pool. We were delighted to be able to tell the children in their last assembly that with their help we had raised £13,700 over the school year. In addition to the money already in the PTA account, this means work on the swimming pool will be able to start in September. The children will miss only one term of using their pool when it could have been permanently closed.


This year will hopefully be a little less challenging, but I know the sense of achievement all the PTA and our helpers felt at the end of last term made us glad to be part of such a fantastic team effort. 


We really hope you can join us in 2018/19 to see what else we can achieve!


St Helen's PTA is Sainsbury's Woodbridge Road branch charity of the year


We are delighted to announce that our school won the vote to be Sainsbury's Woodbridge Road charity of the year. Over the next 12 months we will have the opportunity to do some fundraising activities at the store and they have kindly put charity boxes at their tills to collect funds for the PTA.


The Lions Club of Ipswich

We would like to thank The Lions Club of Ipswich whose wonderful £1000 donation to the PTA helped us reach our target for funding the swimming pool renovations. 

The Club supports the local community, physically & financially with donations whenever their funds permit.

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a joint committee of parents and teachers of St Helen's Primary School. Our main aim is to plan and organise events that help raise funds for the school to support learning and the school environment. We also aim to encourage close links between home and school by providing opportunities for parents, staff and children to get together. Parents and staff work together to provide fund raising activities such as quiz nights, International Days and Winter fayres, as well as supporting school based events such as providing refreshments for the Key Stage performances and share days. An annual general meeting (AGM) is held at the beginning of the school year where a committee is elected and objectives for the year ahead are set out. We then aim to meet frequently, dates and times of which will be made available.
