Our Nursery

Striving for EXCELLENCE and EQUALITY through EQUITY and EMPOWERMENT

Why choose St. Helen's?

Moving your children into an educational setting for the first time can be daunting and scary for some, as we have to admit our little ones are growing up faster than we thought possible.

At St Helen's we want to make sure that your child gets the best start we can offer. We are not a childcare facility- we are a school based nursery, but what does that mean?

It means:

  • The nursery is run by an experienced and fully qualified Early Years Teacher rather than a Nursery Nurse or Early Years Practitioner.

  • The nursery team are part of a larger group of staff who receive regular training both in house and by professionals across our Trust and beyond.

  • All pupils in our nursery and their families can access support from our trained and experienced pastoral support team and Special Needs Lead within the school

  • The sessions are structured to follow the same processes and ideas as the rest of the school making progression into the main school much smoother and the children will interact with the teachers they may have when they officially start school.

At St Helen's we primarily offer provision to children for the academic year after they turn 3, however if we have space we can offer provision from the term after children turn 3.

Our nursery offers provision from 8.30am until 3.30pm. We have a range of offers to give flexibility, however parents requiring 30 hours will be placed first.

  • Morning only - 8.30am - 11.30 am

  • Morning only with lunch - 8.30am - 12.30pm

  • Afternoon only with lunch - 11.30am - 3.30pm

  • Afternoon only session 12.30pm - 3.30pm

  • Full day 8.30 am till 3.30pm (paying extra for lunch hour)

Addition hours over and above the 15 or 30 hours offered by the government will be charged at £4.50 per hour.
