Our Curriculum
Striving for EXCELLENCE and EQUALITY through EQUITY and EMPOWERMENT
Our Curriculum.
At St. Helen’s we embrace a curriculum that gives children the skills and knowledge to learn from the past and the world around them, enabling them to make educated and reasoned decisions about the future they want to have. A curriculum that builds empathy and respect and allows all of our pupils to feel valued and informed. We aim to incorporate a balance of Arts, Sciences and humanities to enable every child to show their strengths and develop their ideas as they grow as learners and members of a wider community.
Our curriculum builds on experiences within our community and the wider area including global issues. Our learning includes the use of expert stakeholders, visits and experiences both in and outside of the classroom.
Our themes are varied and broad, but within them we look at:
Who we are and where we live.
Our impact on the world and our responsibilities
Events and people who changed our world
Equality
